AI agent questions

Which AI tools does it work with?

Any client that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), including Cursor, Claude Desktop and Claude Code. Clients that connect to remote MCP servers can use the hosted URL with your API key.

Can an agent sign itself up?

Yes. An agent can call the create_agent_account tool (no key needed) or POST /api/auth/agent/register to get its own API key with 25 free credits, straight away. A person then opens the claim link to take over the account, which tops it up to the normal 300 free checks a month.

What does a check cost?

One credit per address, the same as the API. Unknown results are free, and credits you buy never expire.

Does verifying an address send an email?

No. BounceLayer asks the mail server whether the mailbox exists. Nothing lands in anyone's inbox.

Why does my agent need a plain-English reason?

Each result includes an explanation, such as "The mail server said this mailbox doesn't exist (550).", so the agent can tell the user why an address was rejected instead of just saying "invalid".
